Blasterjaxx & Thomas Newson 's tracks out of the Top 100

Most of you have noticed a strange phenomenom in the Top 100 today, some of you even asked us why this happened. Let's take a moment to explain what happened, and why.

Blasterjaxx - Thomas Newson

The story

Last week, on monday, a lot of tracks were released on Beatport. One of them was the Blasterjaxx Remix of Save My Night by Armin van Buuren. Anoter one was Don't Hold Us by Thomas Newson. These two tracks entered the Top 100 quickly and even climbed up to the podium. Yesterday Blasterjaxx was confortably leading the Top 100 for the third day in a row, while Thomas Newson was on the 3rd position.

What a surprise today, when the new charts were released, to see these two tracks left the top. This is not the first time it happens. We have already witnessed similar events in the past.

Why?

I have read on reddit someone looking for an explanation, saying these artists may have cheat to get high position in the Top 100 and that's the reason why they were ejected from it.

It seems like a wrong explanation, the answer is somewhere else. It is in the territory restrictions. Every track on Beatport may be limited to be sold in some countries only, that's what we call territory restrictions. It means if you're not in an accepted country for this track, you won't be able to buy it. You won't even be able to see it on Beatport. It also means you will not see it in the tops.

That's the reason why you may not see Blasterjaxx & Thomas Newson 's tracks in the Top 100 on Beatport. That's also why you won't see them here on BP Top Tracker as our severs are located in France, which seems to be restricted for these tracks.

What is strange however is that these track were not restricted at the beginning, and only started to be restricted today. This is one of the mysteries of the EDM industry, and only Beatport or the labels (Armada in this case) could explain why...
