Northern Ireland’s Montel emerged in summer 2012 with his first demos and the impact of them was immediate: house heroes of the day like Bicep, Jordan Peak and Waze & Odyssey were quick to come out in vocal support and singles soon followed. It was influential labels like Brooklyn’s Let’s Play House and Love Revolution as well as European outposts like Skylax and Midnight Love Club that came calling and the results fused percussive garage skips with deep house beats into new and timeless tracks that have helped to define the zeitgeist. As such and as soon as the wider world cottoned on, DJ gigs came flying in and took Montel across the UK and Europe where he bottles up his 20 year long passion for all things 4/4 into arresting and entertaining sets as nimble as they are unique. Not concerned with hype or high chart positions, Montel has continued to do his do well into 2013 and the plaudits keep coming. Look out for more originals, remixes and gigs from this new school talent... you won’t be alone.
